Expo Update

Two terrifically expensive yachts have been donated by a Zhejiang-based boat maker to bring guests to the Expo site from across the Huangpu river and beyond.

From comments made by the company's chairman, sounds to us like the yachts have been perfectly designed to give visitors a flavor of Shanghai before they arrive, since their on-board highlights include KTVs and saunas, as well as restaurants and cinemas. Plus, I'm sure a fair bit of Baijiu to get over those sea legs.

The big three-deck pleasure boats cost RMB 30 million (US$4.39 million) in total. One is 15 meters long, while the other is 23 meters. Both have been named with a 'Expo' prefix. Nice.
