An international humanoid Olympic event is taking place in Harbin in 2010, where robots can compete in 16 events, including athletics and cleaning. All robots that enter have to look like humans, with two arms, two legs and no wheels. Hong Rongbing, a professor with Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and an official with the China National Conference of Artificial Intelligence, says the ultimate goal of the games is to make robots intelligent and flexible enough to serve people at home.
