As you've read in our just-released issue of that's Shanghai, local promoters Free the Wax are kicking off a three-month festival in collaboration with  Brainfeeder (the label of acclaimed LA jazz-hop producer Flying Lotus; logo pictured). The festivities start this month with a live beat-live graffiti collaboration featuring music maker Samiyam and artist Illlord tha Ques on Sep 11, and will be followed by appearances by Brainfeeder DJ Gaslamp Killer in November and  the mad genius Flying Lotus himself in December.

While this month's Samiyam/Ques show was originally slated to be held at MoCA's Art Lab, a change in the venue's management has prompted Free the Wax to move over to Kathleen's 5, just across the way on the 5th floor of the Shanghai Art Museum. The time (Saturday, Sep 11, 9pm) and price (RMB50) will remain the same -- but your ticket will also now be good for one free Vedett Beer as well! Thanks Free the Wax!

For more info, call 6327 0591. To check out our interview with Samiyam, click here.
